The band has just posted a video blog at myspace.com/kaura that documents their recording sessions with Tool, System of a Down engineer/producer, this past fall. They will also be posting some tour video blogs in a couple of days so check back!

The band is a week into its South Western Tour that will be taking them out to SXSW in Austin for 3 shows. Be sure to check out the tour dates for all the details. The band just played in El Paso, TX last night and is on their way to Houston for a show on Friday.

After 8 months of being busy in the studio, Kaura is excited to emerge and get back to playing live. The band has some new songs they are excited to debut live and it will be a whole new experience with new bass player Donovan Hernandez making his live debut with the band. The first show is Valentine's Day Night in San Jose, at the Voodoo Lounge, go to the Shows page for all the info. 2008 is the year!!!!

Kaura is happy to announce that it will be hitting the road at the end in February for shows throughout the Southwest United States. The tour will include stops in Austin during the South by Southwest Music Conference. Keep checking the tour page for the latest dates. Hope to see you out there!

The band has returned from Sylvia Massy's Radiostar Studios and would like to thank Sylvia, Gregg, and their engineer Jason, for helping us have such a great time. The sessions will be part of Kaura's 2008 Release.

The band will be recording a few songs with Sylvia Massy (Tool, System of a Down, Danzig, Prince) in October at her Weed, California Studio. They are looking forward to working with her and getting some killer drums sounds for some of the new songs.

The band has been in the studio this summer recording songs for first album and recently recorded drums for the song Ephemeral Tide at band member Yosh's Faultline Studios in San Francisco. The band will be in the studio through October and then will mix the album in November, hang tight, it will be worth the wait!!

KAURA in LA! The band will be playing a very special show in Hollywood on March 8th at the Red Dragon. Opening will be friends playing Tabla and Hammered Dulcimer. The show will also be the live debut of multi-instrumentalist Yosh. Hope to see you there.

The band has added an all ages show in Berkeley at Blakes on Telegraph on February 16th. The band will be playing with Oakland's Spiral Arms. This will be the band's last local show before they head out on tour to South by Southwest.

Kaura would like to announce the addition of new guitarist Mike Pond. Mike is a Santa Cruz native and former bandmate of Kaura Bassist Steve Walker in the band Dive. The band is very excited to have completed the core line-up and is anxious to start playing live.

Malcolm Guess, singer/guitarist of Kaura, cut open his hand badly yesterday and had to be taken to the hospital to receive stitches. This will unfortunately postpone plans to release their new song, 'One Becomes Two' on Myspace later this week as planned. Malcolm and the band hope to get back to action in early April, once he has fully recovered.

After spending New Years in the Mojave desert, Kaura is looking forward moving into their new studio in Oakland, Ca. They are awaiting shipment of the instruments they bought while traveling and will be recording demos of their new songs in the coming weeks. After several weeks of 20 hour days and massive sleep deprivation, Malcolm has finished the final overdubs and mixing for Kaura's 5 song E.P. Designs for cover art are underway.

Paz Lenchantin from A Perfect Circle and Zwan came around to the band's studio today and laid down some inspired violin tracks for the song Dividing Lines. She is currently playing with the band Royal Trux.

Ben laid down all the drum tracks today with Malcolm at the board engineering. Ben got his brand new set of custom-made wood-hooped drums sent to him just in time for the session. Many thanks to Masa Tsuzuki for assisting engineering while in the studio and Carly Berdischewsky for her uneding support. Plans for recording overdubs is scheduled for early next week.
